What if this is the best version?
Lately, I've been contemplating who I truly am because I can't seem to figure it out. I often ask myself, "What was I made for?" and "What do I really want to do in my life?" Then, I came across the movie 'Lady Bird' (2017). I had heard of it before but never got around to watching it. It suddenly occurred to me that I hadn't seen it yet, so why not watch it now? As I watched the movie and listened to the conversation between Lady Bird and her mother, I became quite emotional.
Here's their conversation:
"I want you to be the very best version of yourself that you can be," her mother said.
"What if this is the best version?" Lady Bird responded.
Ah, I think it's a difficult question to answer. In other words, "What if this is who I really am?"
The Concept Of Self-improvement
Sometimes, we find ourselves lost. We don't know what to do; we struggle to find the right path for us. But you know what? I realized that it's okay to be lost sometimes because we can learn so much from being lost. We discover something valuable when we try to find a place that fits us, and no matter what we get - good or bad, small or big - we accept it because that's what the universe and God have given us.
However, I believe it's not the worth of what we get that makes us grow, but rather what we learn from things. It's about what we realize and how we apply it in our lives.
I think it's not the prize of what we get that makes us the best version of ourselves, nor is it being successful that defines who we are. Instead, it is the experience, knowledge, and wisdom we gain from being lost.
PERSPECTIVE
We must understand that every individual has their own perspective in life. Their point of view on something differs from others. We should not change our perspective just because someone else's perspective doesn't align with ours. Do not change your perspective for others. If you believe your perspective will mold you into the best version of yourself, go for it.
